Student Testimonial - Tao and Alitia Farrell

I have been attending Bikram Yoga for almost 2 years and I believe the yoga allows me to keep doing what I do pain free. As a Registered Massage Therapist my body is being stressed by repetitive action and strain on a daily basis. When I started Bikram Yoga I was experiencing daily discomfort in my right hip (a combination of a congenital weakness and the stress of my job) and right shoulder. Three weeks into a 4-5 day a week Bikram practice my hip and shoulder pain disappeared and only returns when my Bikram practice drops off.

Having achieved these results I turned the focus to my clients, many of whom were receiving positive results from treatment but finding their results temporary (in part due to incomplete therapeutic exercise program progression and low compliance). After assessing Bikram Yoga from a therapeutic perspective I felt that it was a wonderful combination of stretching, core stability work and cardiovascular strengthening and that it would be an appropriate progression for many of my clients. Since referring clients to Bikram yoga a very high percentage have reported that treatments hold longer and that they’re recovery has accelerated.
